Fiber Processing Request

**Please note: our backlog is always in flux. Please allow for a few weeks for a response to your request (do not worry you are on the list and it is in order of received). Then our backlog from time of sign up to finished processing is currently around 4 - 6 months.

Fiber Processing Requirements

All fiber needs to be between 3"-6" long
Minumum batches 3lbs
IMPORTANT: our prices are tiered based on incoming weight, the more fiber the better value.
All fiber must be reasonably clean and skirted
All bags need to have our processing sheets filled out and put inside
All fiber must be free of moths and other bugs and critters
Greasier wool, like merino, requires an extra scouring and will be charged $5/lb on top of the processing fees
Any un-skirted wool will be charged a skirting fee on top of processing (this cost will be determined by level of vm and dirt)
All prices are based on incoming weight
The cleaner the fleece the more bang for your buck!

Processing Price List

$40 - $50 per lb.

3lbs-5lbs - $50 per lb
5lb-10lb - $45 per lb
10lb or more - $40 per lb

$23 per lb.

We can blend colors and fibers
Roving is finished into a large bag in roughly 300 yard increments
It is up to you to make balls or smaller bags for sale
Batting some tri-folded with tissue paper in a large bag. We normally do 2 lb batts, but we can divide your total weight and make them according to that

The felt sheets are roughly 48" X 30". Each fiber stretches differently in the felter. Never exact and never square edges.

Thin for cut and sew 10oz
Med 16oz
Thick for insoles or trivets etc 30oz

$45 per lb.

We have 5 sizes of insoles S,M,Lg,XL and XXL
We can cut car coasters and other small things out of the waste felt.
We also offer trivets, coasters and car coasters

$30 per lb.

This is a great option for alpaca seconds or other coarser fiber not suitable for yarn.
This is Core-spun, meaning it has a cotton core spun into the center.

Acceptance of Terms

By submitting fiber to Powers Acres Fiber Mill for processing services, you ("Customer") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Fiber Assessment and Processing Determination

Powers Acres Fiber Mill reserves the sole right to assess all incoming fiber to determine its quality, condition, and suitability for various processing methods. Based on this professional assessment, we will determine the most appropriate processing method and end product that the fiber can reasonably achieve. Customers acknowledge that not all fiber is suitable for all processing methods or end products.

No Guarantee of Specific End Products

IMPORTANT: Powers Acres Fiber Mill makes no guarantee that your fiber will be processed into

your desired end product. The final processing method and resulting product will be determined solely by Powers Acres Fiber Mill based on the fiber's assessed quality, condition, and characteristics. Customer understands and accepts that their requested processing method may not be feasible for their particular fiber.

Incoming Fiber Condition Disclaimer

Powers Acres Fiber Mill is NOT RESPONSIBLE for the incoming condition of any fiber submitted for processing. This includes, but is not limited to:

Pre-existing damage, stains, or contamination
Vegetable matter or foreign debris
Uneven staple length or crimp
Color variations or fading
Felting or matting
Insect damage or other deterioration
Any other condition present upon receiptCustomer acknowledges that they are solely responsible for the quality and condition of fiber submitted for processing.

No Refund Policy

NO MONEY BACK GUARANTEE: Powers Acres Fiber Mill offers NO REFUNDS if the Customer does not "like" the end result of the processing services. Customer acknowledges that satisfaction with the final product is subjective and that no refunds will be issued based on personal preference, color variations, texture, or any other subjective assessment of the finished product.

Processing Timeline

Processing times are estimates only and may vary based on volume, complexity, and seasonal demands. Powers Acres Fiber Mill is not liable for delays in processing.

Fiber Loss

Customer acknowledges that some fiber loss during processing is normal and expected.

Powers Acres Fiber Mill will make reasonable efforts to minimize loss but is not responsible for standard processing loss.

Limitation of Liability

Powers Acres Fiber Mill's liability is limited to the value of the processing service fee paid. Under no circumstances shall Powers Acres Fiber Mill be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits or loss of fiber value.

Abandoned Property

Fiber not claimed within ninety (30) days of completion notification will be considered abandoned property and may be disposed of at Powers Acres Fiber Mill's discretion.

Modification of Terms

Powers Acres Fiber Mill reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted and effective immediately upon posting.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Ohio.

Customer Acknowledgment By submitting fiber for processing, Customer acknowledges:

They have read and understood these Terms and Conditions
They accept full responsibility for the incoming condition of their fiber
They understand that specific end products are not guaranteed
They understand that no refunds will be issued based on dissatisfaction with results
They agree to Powers Acres Fiber Mill's professional assessment and processing decisions
